A Native American Prayer & a Poem from Selma

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints on snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn’s rain When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight I am the soft stars that shine at night Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die If I had my life to do over, I’d choose you to be my Father once more Even if it meant losing you again It would be worth all the tears in the world You were my sunshine when skies were grey I loved and adored you you took all my tears away I was so happy to just be with you So proud to be your little girl To me you meant the world Your love was always pure Your devotion complete Your time seemed all too short And I now feel so alone My heart is completely crushed But nothing loved is ever lost And you are loved so much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
